CUBE is part of new research platform MINERVA
The research platform "Mineralogical Preservation of the Human Biome from the Depth of Time (MINERVA)”, linking the research groups of Ron Pinhasi, Stephan Krämer and Thomas Rattei from CUBE, has been selected for funding by the University of Vienna.
During the next four years, a total of 600 kEUR will be available for this platform. The team will. broaden the aDNA paleoenvironmental sources to include speleothems, sediments, and various minerals. These are of great importance as these may not only provide new insights about human evolutionary genomics, but also on genomic data from a range of anthropogenic environments such as caves and archaeological sites.
