CMESS celebrates four Highly Cited Researchers 2022
Our Centre once again features four scientists listed as most cited researchers worldwide. Thomas Rattei (CUBE), Andreas Richter (TER), Michael Wagner (DOME) and Wolfgang Wanek (TER) have been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list from Clarivate.
Accordingly, the four CMESS researchers are among the one percent of the world's most cited researchers in their fields of research. Our Centre is the institution of the University of Vienna with the most highly cited researchers. In total, ten scholars from the University of Vienna and 46 scholars associated with Austrian Institutions can be found on this list.
The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year publication year in the “Web of Science” citation index. The number of citations is an indicator of the extraordinary impact these scientists have on the research community. Michael Wagner is among the most cited researchers in the category Microbiology. Thomas, Rattei, Andreas Richter, and Wolfgang Wanek are listed in the Cross-Field category, dominating citations in more than one research field. All four researchers are repeatedly on the list. Rattei, Richter and Wagner have been listed here continuously for several years.
